Brainstorm 2004

It was a gorgeous sunny Sunday morning on June 27th, 2004 for the walkers and runners at the 4th Annual Brainstorm 5KWalk/Run. The event was held at Root River Parkway in Greendale, WI. It was a huge success with approximately 750 people in attendance. The American Legion Post 416 of Greendale kicked off the events with a show of the colors. The National Anthem was played and Mike Strehlow lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mike Strehlow, TV anchor for Channel CBS 58 was the MC for the third year in a row. Bango, the mascot for the Milwaukee Bucks kicked off the race. And they're off……

Heidi Hancock of Greendale took Top Overall Female with a time of 20:32 and Nick Limoni of Franklin took Top Overall Male with a time of 15:56. Congratulations! See the results posted for all the runners on www.epilepsyfoundationsewi.org. Two other prizes were given out:

The team captain with the largest amount of pledges was the Kathy Evans of the Jake Evans'Team. She was the winner of the Trek bike, Trek helmet and Trek kickstand donated by Emery's Bicycle & Super Fitness Stores ($500.00 value).They won it narrowly by only $4.00.

The captain who built the biggest team was LeeAnn Lathrop of Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital for the team named Brains R Us: She received the Milwaukee Bucks VIP package which included two complimentary tickets (in lower level location), an autographed basketball, a tour of the Milwaukee Bucks Locker Room, and a chance to watch pre-game warm-ups for a mutually agreed upon game at the Bradley Center.

Congratulations to all the winners and all those runners and walkers who participated in this awesome event! There was Bango the Milwaukee Bucks mascot, face painting, a coloring table and a Moonwalk for the children along with a Children's Fun Run after the Walk/Run. Of course, there was plenty of food and drink for everyone while waiting for the results to be tallied. It was a great event for all - especially those people with epilepsy who will be helped from the money raised by this fundraiser.
